The TW20 forklift has two-tonne load capacity and is equipped with a 25 HP diesel engine. It belongs to Agrimac’s medium range and is the successor to the former model TW21 and TH-210 in terms of performance and size, yet with the latest innovations in systems and equipment.
This forklift has two versions, each with different engines: the TW20-4KL model is powered by the Kubota V1505 engine with 25 HP, and the TW20-4PL model features the Perkins 403J-17 engine, also with 25 HP. In both cases, they remain below 19 kW of power, so the forklift does not require a particulate filter. This results in significant savings on filter regenerations for both mechanics and operators. Additionally, these two low-consumption, high-performance engines offer further savings.
Like the other Agrimac forklifts, the TW20 model features in-wheel drive motors. This configuration, with four hydraulic motors on each wheel axle, defines the machine’s design. It is a vehicle without differential axles, meaning it is lighter due to fewer components, while still maintaining load and work capacity.
The reduction in components automatically leads to savings in maintenance and spare parts, which also translates into profitability. A forklift with in-wheel motors has a TCO and a much lower cost per working hour compared to a forklift with differential axles.
Agrimac’s engineers have achieved an excellent balance between the working pressure of the hydraulic system at 420 bar and the four in-wheel motors in series. At this pressure, the best performance is obtained with the lowest fuel consumption.
The TW20 is a 4x4 all-terrain forklift with outstanding manoeuvrability on difficult terrains, keeping the load secure. The distributed motorisation, combined with its large wheels, tight turning radius, and 345 mm of ground clearance, ensures it can tackle bumps, muddy areas, snowy or steep terrains, and more.
One of the key elements in the machine’s performance is the operating temperature of the hydrostatic system. Just like in higher capacity models such as the TW25 and the TW35 the oil consistently operates at around 50 degrees. This is achieved thanks to two electric fans installed at the front of the vehicle. Complementing this system is a radiator that dissipates heat from the rear of the forklift. The mid-level air intake mushroom, which draws in clean air, also enhances the cooling flow and contributes to keeping the oil temperature below 65 degrees, ensuring the forklift operates at full capacity.
To verify that the hydrostatic system is functioning correctly, the TW20 is equipped with four minimex units accessible from the outside of the vehicle.
Driving this forklift is comfortable, agile, and precise. Comfort stems from the spacious cabin and the wide field of vision at any angle, not only of the load but also of the surroundings. The cabin is mounted on four shock absorbers with a dual anti-vibration system, just like the engine. The reduction in vibrations and the slow approach system greatly enhance driving precision.
The safety features are highlighted firstly by the negative brake and the travel brake priority valve, which increases braking force with minimal pedal pressure. If the engine is off but the travel brake needs to be engaged for any reason, this is possible thanks to the emergency braking system. Additionally, there is yet another braking system: an emergency button on the dashboard that shuts down all systems and activates the negative brake. Following this safety approach, designed to stop the machine in any situation, the forklift is also equipped with a seat pressure sensor to prevent the vehicle from starting if the driver is not seated.
